Body
Dysmorphic Disorder
This is not an eating disorder, but rather a psychological
condition which has close parallels with both anorexia and
bulimia in terms of distortions of body image. It is
typified by a preoccupation with an imagined defect in
appearance. If there is a slight physical anomaly actually
present, the person's concern is excessive. The
preoccupation is severe enough to disrupt the person's
social, vocational, educational or other important area of
functioning.
